Live at Inglewood 1968
Live at Inglewood 1968 captures Deep Purple on stage in Los Angeles on 18 October 1968, when they were the support act for Cream on the band's farewell tour. It is a hard rock live album, and one of the very few recordings of the Mark I line-up playing in concert.
It sits right at the start of the band's story. Their debut, Shades of Deep Purple, and The Book of Taliesyn had both come out that year, long before the heavier sound of Deep Purple in Rock in 1970. The recording stayed unreleased until 2002, when Purple Records put it out. For anyone curious about how the earliest version of the band sounded in front of a crowd, it is a rare chance to hear it.
