Scandinavian Nights
Scandinavian Nights is a double live album by the English hard rock band Deep Purple, released on 10 October 1988 by Connoisseur Collection. It was recorded at the Stockholm Konserthuset on 12 November 1970, so it captures the band in the period just after Deep Purple in Rock.
For anyone who knows the group mainly through their studio records, this is a chance to hear the band on stage at an early point in their career. The release also sits alongside their studio output of the late 1980s, with The House of Blue Light arriving the year before. A double set from a single night in Stockholm gives a fuller picture of how they sounded live than any single disc could.
