Fate: The Best of Death
Fate: The Best of Death is a compilation by the death metal band Death, released in 1992 on Under One Flag. It gathers songs from the group's first four studio albums: Scream Bloody Gore (1987), Leprosy (1988), Spiritual Healing (1990) and Human (1991).
It arrived between Human and Individual Thought Patterns (1993), so it works as a snapshot of the band's early years, before the later records in their catalogue. For anyone wanting a quick route through that opening run of albums, it puts the formative material in one place. Relapse Records set it for re-release in October 2023, which gives newer listeners another way in.
