1977 Revisited

1977 Revisited – a Collection of Rare Tracks and B-Sides is a compilation CD by the Clash, issued in the US on Relativity Records on 16 February 1990 through CBS Special Products. It was put together by Anthony Valentino and gathers material that American listeners had struggled to find on the band's early records.

The track list pulls together four of the five songs cut from the American edition of The Clash (the original "White Riot" is not among them), two non-album songs from The Cost of Living, three B-sides and one live recording. Every track except "London's Burning" later turned up on Clash on Broadway, and all of them, that one included, appeared on the singles collected in Singles Box. The sleeve reprints an article by Mick Farren from Soho News, and Ira Robbins contributes a short essay in the insert explaining where the tracks came from. It is a handy way to hear the band's first-era odds and ends gathered together.
