Blackout in the Red Room
Blackout in the Red Room is the debut studio album from American hard rock band Love/Hate, released in February 1990 through CBS. It opens the group's run of studio records, which continued with Wasted in America in 1992 and Let's Rumble the following year.
The record reached number 154 on the Billboard 200, and its single "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?" earned good rotation on MTV, mostly on Headbangers Ball. That exposure is a neat clue to where the band sat at the time: a hard rock group with enough bite to appeal to the metal crowd. If you want to hear how Love/Hate first announced themselves, this is the place to begin.
