Raw and Live is a two-disc live album released under the Sex Pistols name on 16 February 2004. It is a slightly odd package, because only part of it is the band itself. The second disc is a Vicious White Kids concert, a one-off line-up featuring Sid Vicious, Glen Matlock, Steve New and Rat Scabies.
For anyone who knows the Sex Pistols mainly through Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols from 1977, this sits well outside the studio run of records, and it works best as a document of the group's wider orbit. The Vicious White Kids disc is the real draw, bringing together Vicious and Matlock, and with Scabies on drums it makes for a curious meeting of punk-era names. It is one for collectors and the curious rather than a first stop.
