Flogging a Dead Horse
Flogging a Dead Horse is a Sex Pistols compilation of singles, released by Virgin in 1980 after the band had broken up. It gathers the four singles A-sides that also appeared on Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols (1977), alongside three of their B-sides.
The rest of the running order comes from the band's film-era material. It includes the six A-sides taken from The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (1979), plus "My Way", which was originally a B-side. That makes it a handy one-stop collection of the group's singles, from the early punk statements to the stranger, more chaotic post-split releases.
For anyone who knows the debut album but hasn't followed the band's later singles, this is a useful way to hear how the story carried on once the group itself had come to an end.
