From Here to Eternity: Live
From Here to Eternity: Live is a concert album from the Clash, released on 4 October 1999. It gathers 17 songs taken from shows played between 1978 and 1982, so it covers much of the band's run through their studio albums, from Give 'Em Enough Rope to Combat Rock. Two further tracks later appeared as iTunes bonus material.
Rather than documenting a single night, it works as a compilation of the band on stage across several years. Some of the recordings also turn up in the film Rude Boy (1980). Technical flaws in the original recordings of "London's Burning", "What's My Name" and "I Fought the Law" were fixed with overdubs. For anyone who knows the studio records well, it offers a different view of those songs in a live setting.
