Selfless
Selfless is the third studio album by Godflesh, the English industrial metal band, and it came out on 26 September 1994. It followed Streetcleaner and Pure, and it was the band's major-label debut, released by Earache Records in Europe and by Columbia Records in the United States, where it appeared on 18 October.
Against the group's earlier records, it leans towards a more conventional, rock-oriented sound, which makes it an interesting point in their story. Two singles came from it, "Xnoybis" and "Crush My Soul", the latter with a video directed by the photographer Andres Serrano. The closing track, "Go Spread Your Wings", runs to 23 minutes. When the album was played almost in full at Roadburn Festival in 2018, that track was replaced by "Messiah" and "Merciless", two songs from the same sessions.
