A World Lit Only by Dub
A World Lit Only by Dub is a remix album from the English industrial metal band Godflesh, released on 6 December 2024 through Avalanche Recordings, the label run by frontman Justin Broadrick. It reworks tracks from the band's seventh studio album, A World Lit Only by Fire, in dub versions made by Godflesh themselves.
The original record came out in 2014, and Broadrick presented this set as a way of marking its tenth anniversary. It is the band's second remix album, so it sits apart from the run of studio records that stretches from Streetcleaner in 1989 to Purge in 2023. For anyone who knows the 2014 album well, it offers a chance to hear familiar songs rebuilt from the inside, with the band reshaping their own material rather than handing it to outsiders.
