Orgy of the Damned
Orgy of the Damned is Slash's sixth solo studio album, a blues covers record put together with a rotating cast of guests. Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Chris Robinson, Beth Hart, Dorothy and Tash Neal all take part. It came out on 17 May 2024 through Gibson.
For a guitarist best known for hard rock, it's a chance to hear him dig into the blues tradition, with a mix of heavy metal and blues rock colouring the sound. Two singles led the way: Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" on 8 March and Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" on 12 April. Those two picks give a good sense of the range, from Chicago blues to the heavier early Fleetwood Mac sound, and the guest list means each track brings a different voice to Slash's playing.
