Slash

Slash, born Saul Hudson in Hampstead, London, and raised in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, moved to Los Angeles with his father at six. He joined Hollywood Rose in 1983, then Guns N' Roses in 1985, replacing Tracii Guns. The band's worldwide success from the late 1980s made him one of rock's most recognisable guitarists, and his "Sweet Child o' Mine" riff topped Total Guitar's 2004 list of the greatest riffs.

After forming Slash's Snakepit in 1994 and leaving Guns N' Roses in 1996, he co-founded Velvet Revolver with Scott Weiland in 2002. His solo run includes Slash (2010) and Orgy of the Damned (2024), both built around guest singers, plus four albums with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, from Apocalyptic Love to 4. He returned to Guns N' Roses in 2016. His sound blends hard rock, heavy metal and blues.
