Decay

Decay is the tenth studio album from Godflesh, the English industrial metal band, and it arrives on 25 September 2026 through Relapse Records. It draws on material left over from the sessions for Purge (2023), with the songs reworked and expanded. Justin Broadrick had hoped to put it out in 2024, but it took him two years to find the right label. Because of his inguinal hernia and the surgery that followed, it is set to be the band's penultimate studio album.

Recorded largely on a seven-string guitar, it is more instrumental than the band's earlier records, with Broadrick voicing fewer than 150 words across 42 minutes. Its themes are his weariness with human interaction and autistic masking. The first single, "Living/Ending," was described as a lurching, guttural groove and set beside Streetcleaner (1989). "Master and Slave" followed as the second.
