Album
We Are Chaos
We Are Chaos is the eleventh studio album by Marilyn Manson, released on 11 September 2020 through Loma Vista Recordings and Concord Music. It followed Heaven Upside Down from 2017 and was produced by Manson together with Shooter Jennings, a pairing that gives the record a different set of hands behind the desk. The title track and "Don't Chase the Dead" were both released as singles.
The reception was warm. Reviews were mostly positive, and the album gave the band their first number one in Portugal. In Australia it became their first chart-topper since Mechanical Animals in 1998, which is a neat link back to the late-nineties peak many fans first knew them from. For listeners who dipped out after the early records, it is a fair place to catch up with where the band stood at the start of the 2020s.
