The Last Tour on Earth
The Last Tour on Earth is a live album from Marilyn Manson, released on 12 November 1999 on Nothing Records. It gathers recordings from three tours: Mechanical Animals, Beautiful Monsters and Rock is Dead. The tracks come from different nights, with "Lunchbox" taken from Grand Rapids, "I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)" from Cedar Rapids and "The Last Day on Earth" from Las Vegas. The live "The Dope Show" swaps California for Cleveland, to a roar from the crowd.
It arrived between Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood, and it keeps some of the theatre of the shows. "Rock is Dead" is introduced as though Omega and the Mechanical Animals, the alter egos devised for that album and tour, were playing, and several songs are prefaced with spoken tirades. There is also one new studio track, "Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes", which appears on the Celebrity Deathmatch soundtrack too.
