Greatest Hits, released on 27 June 2000 by EMI, is Queensrÿche's first compilation. The American progressive metal band gathered material from every studio album up to 1997, which means 1999's Q2K is left out. It works as a quick route through their first decade and a bit, from the early metal of The Warning to the more varied sound of their later records.

Two extras make it more than a straightforward round-up. "Chasing Blue Sky" was originally a B-side from 1997, and "Someone Else?" appears in an alternate version played by the full band. Those tracks are the main reason a longtime fan might want it alongside the original albums, while newcomers get a compact introduction to the band's range.
