Live at Donington: August 22nd 1992
Live at Donington captures Iron Maiden's second headlining slot at the Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park, played on 22 August 1992 in front of almost 80,000 people. It comes from the Fear of the Dark Tour, the band's tour for their ninth studio album, which had come out the same year. The record was released by EMI on 8 November 1993, first as a limited triple vinyl set and as a two-disc CD in a handful of countries, including the UK, Japan, Canada and Brazil. It spent a single week on the UK album chart.
One detail will interest long-time fans: guitarist Adrian Smith joins the band for "Running Free". The album joined the regular catalogue with the 1998 reissues, which swapped the plain white sleeve for Mark Wilkinson's original concert poster and added a multimedia section on the second disc.
