A Real Live One
A Real Live One is Iron Maiden's live album, released by EMI on 22 March 1993. It was assembled from recordings made at nine different European venues during the Fear of the Dark Tour in 1992, and it draws its songs from the run of studio albums between Somewhere in Time (1986) and Fear of the Dark (1992). "Fear of the Dark" was issued as a single from it.
The record has a companion in A Real Dead One, which covers only material from before Somewhere in Time, so the two together split the band's catalogue neatly in half. In 1998 they were joined as the two-disc A Real Live Dead One. The cover is by Derek Riggs, the band's long-time artist, whose design for the Fear of the Dark album itself had been rejected. It makes a handy snapshot of Maiden on stage in the early 1990s.
