Led Zeppelin, released by Atlantic in October 1990, is a boxed set that gathers the band's work in one place. It was their first compilation, setting aside Coda, which some sources class as a studio album. Jimmy Page supervised both the choice of tracks and the remastering, so the band's own guitarist had a hand in how these songs were presented to a new generation of listeners.

It came on four CDs, six vinyl records or four cassettes, with a 36-page booklet. It entered the Billboard 200 at number 40, a notable showing for a set priced at $65 on CD and $55 on cassette, which made it one of the costliest albums to reach the Top 40. For anyone tracing the band's path through blues rock, hard rock and arena rock, it offers a route through the catalogue with Page at the controls.
