Hollywood Raw: The Original Sessions
Hollywood Raw: The Original Sessions is a compilation from L.A. Guns, released on 26 October 2004 on Deadline Music. It gathers previously unreleased recordings made in 1987, a snapshot of the band at work before their first record reached the shops.
That timing is what makes it interesting. Re-recorded versions of several of these songs later turned up on the band's self-titled debut album of 1988, so this is a chance to hear the hard rock material in its earlier form and compare it with the versions that followed. The album has also been reissued with Collector's Edition No. 1 as a bonus CD. It will mostly appeal to fans who want to trace how those early songs took shape.
