Checkered Past
Checkered Past is the thirteenth studio album by the American hard rock band L.A. Guns, released on 12 November 2021 through Frontiers Records. It arrived two years after The Devil You Know and sits in the middle of a busy late-career stretch for the group, whose catalogue began with their self-titled debut in 1988.
For anyone who first met the band through Cocked & Loaded or Hollywood Vampires, this is a chance to hear how L.A. Guns sounded in the 2020s. It comes between 2019's The Devil You Know and 2023's Black Diamonds, so it is a useful marker for following the band's more recent output on the Frontiers label.
