Blood Oath
Blood Oath is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Suffocation, released on 3 July 2009 through Irond. It follows their 2006 self-titled record and was recorded with Joe Cincotta, who had worked on the band's previous two releases. Zack Ohren mixed it, and Jon Zig again designed the cover artwork.
It sits at a turning point in the band's story, as the last album to feature drummer Mike Smith in full. Longtime fans will spot "Marital Decimation", a re-recording of a track from 1993's Breeding the Spawn. The album also gave Suffocation their first entry on the Billboard 200, debuting at number 135 after selling 3,600 copies in the United States in its first week.
