Then and Now is a greatest hits collection from the Who, put out by Polydor internationally on 3 May 2004, with Geffen handling the US release. It gathers 18 of the band's best-known songs, but the real draw for long-time fans was the pair of new recordings added at the end of the running order.

"Real Good Looking Boy" is a tribute to Elvis Presley, while "Old Red Wine" pays tribute to John Entwistle, the bassist who died in 2002. They were the first new Who originals since "Dig", from Pete Townshend's 1989 album The Iron Man, and they arrived two years before the studio album Endless Wire. A 2007 reissue swapped "Old Red Wine" for "It's Not Enough" from that record, and replaced "Summertime Blues" with "Baba O'Riley".
