Scatter the Rats
Scatter the Rats is the seventh studio album from L7, the American rock band whose grunge-tinged sound first surfaced on their 1988 self-titled debut. It came out on 3 May 2019 through Blackheart Records, with a US release following on 31 May.
The record matters for where it sits in their story. Their previous album, Slap-Happy, arrived in 1999, so this was their first full-length in almost twenty years, and it followed their reunion in 2014. It is the sound of a band returning to the studio after a long gap, picking up a catalogue that runs through Smell the Magic, Bricks Are Heavy and Hungry for Stink. Reviews were positive, which makes it a good place to start if you lost track of L7 after the nineties.
