The Best of L7: The Slash Years
The Best of L7: The Slash Years is the first compilation from the band, released on 2 May 2000 through London Records. It gathers the group's best-known songs from their time on Slash Records, so it works as a handy overview of the early and middle part of their career, when they were putting out albums from Bricks Are Heavy through to Hungry for Stink.
It also marks a pause in the story. Nothing else came from L7 until Scatter the Rats arrived in 2019, which makes this collection the last word from the band for almost two decades. A three-disc box set with a similar name, Wargasm – The Slash Years, followed in 2021 for anyone wanting to dig deeper.
