Epitome of Torture
Epitome of Torture is the fourteenth studio album from German thrash metal band Sodom, released on 26 April 2013 through Steamhammer. It followed In War and Pieces from 2010 and came before Decision Day in 2016, so it sits in the middle of a long run of records that stretches back to Obsessed by Cruelty in 1986.
It is worth hearing for a couple of reasons. "Katjuscha" works a melody from "Katyusha", the Soviet folk song Matvei Blanter composed in 1938, into straight-ahead thrash, and "Stigmatized" was given a music video. The record also did well in America, debuting at number 25 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, the band's highest Billboard entry to that point.
