Decision Day
Decision Day is the fifteenth studio album by Sodom, the German thrash metal band, released on 26 August 2016 on Chaos Reigns. It follows Epitome of Torture from 2013 and was the last record to come before Genesis XIX in 2020. Joe Petagno designed the artwork, and "Sacred Warpath", first issued two years earlier on an EP of the same name, was re-recorded for the track list.
The album matters mostly for who plays on it. It is the final Sodom record with guitarist Bernd "Bernemann" Kost and drummer Markus "Makka" Freiwald, both of whom left in January 2018. It was also the last time the group recorded as a three-piece, the format they had kept since the beginning. For anyone following the band's story, it closes a distinct chapter, and it is worth hearing as the last word from that line-up.
