Expurse of Sodomy
Expurse of Sodomy is an EP from the German thrash metal band Sodom, released on 1 October 1987 through Steamhammer. It arrived between their debut album, Obsessed by Cruelty, and the follow-up Persecution Mania, so it sits right in the band's early run of records. Some copies were pressed as picture discs, and a limited edition appeared on clear vinyl, which makes it one for collectors as well as listeners.
The record's best-known song is "Sodomy & Lust", which has since been covered by Cradle of Filth, Exhumed and Epilepsia. That says something about its reach among extreme metal bands. Its genres are listed as black and thrash metal, so it is a good place to hear Sodom's rawer, earlier side.
