Sodom
Sodom's self-titled record is the German thrash band's eleventh studio album, released on 21 April 2006. It follows M-16 from 2001 and was the first full-length the band put out in the 2000s after that record. Tom Angelripper has a straightforward explanation for the name: every band needs a self-titled album.
The first pressing came in a slipcase with a full-colour poster of the artwork, a nice touch for collectors. Sitting between the late-1990s and early 2000s releases and The Final Sign of Evil, which followed in 2007, it catches a long-running thrash and heavy metal outfit well into its third decade and still turning out records at a steady pace. Fans of the band's run from Obsessed by Cruelty onwards will want it on the shelf.
