Greatest Hits
Greatest Hits is a compilation from the British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on CBS in 1971. It gathers the band's UK hit singles from their first years, running from their beginnings in 1968 through to 1971. Most of the material comes from the original line-up, which was led by guitarist Peter Green.
It makes a handy snapshot of Fleetwood Mac before the changes that later reshaped their sound, when they were still rooted in the blues. The collection reached No. 36 on the UK Albums Chart. For anyone who knows the band mainly through Rumours and what followed, it is a good way into the earlier Peter Green era, told through the singles that brought the group to a wider audience in Britain.
