Hybrid Theory EP is the first release from the American band later known as Linkin Park. It came out on 1 May 1999 through Mix Media Entertainment, when the group were still performing under the name Hybrid Theory. It sits in the nu metal camp and marks the very start of their recorded story.

The EP has been revisited more than once since. In 2001 it was reissued under the Linkin Park name as the first LP Underground release, and it later turned up as the third disc in the 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory. It is not to be confused with the band's debut studio album of 2000, which carries the same title. For anyone curious about where Linkin Park began, it is a useful early marker before Meteora and everything that followed.
