Tiny Music… Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop
Tiny Music… Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop is the third studio album by Stone Temple Pilots, released on 26 March 1996 through Atlantic. After a short break during 1995, the band regrouped and recorded together at Westerly Ranch in Santa Ynez, California, where they were also living. Brendan O'Brien produced, as he had on all their earlier records.
It followed Core and Purple, and it marked a real change of direction in both sound and image. Reviews were mixed at first, much as they had been for the band's earlier work, but the album has since won praise for that reinvention. It entered the Billboard 200 at number four, and "Big Bang Baby", "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" and "Lady Picture Show" all topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It went 2× platinum in the US.
