Time
Time is the fourth studio album by Danish heavy metal band Mercyful Fate, released on 25 October 1994 through Metal Blade Records. It followed In the Shadows the previous year, and it sits in the band's second run of records, after the early albums Melissa and Don't Break the Oath.
The song worth seeking out is "The Mad Arab", which draws on H. P. Lovecraft's character Abdul Alhazred, the author of the forbidden book of occult lore, The Necronomicon. The lyric booklet subtitles it "Part One: The Vision", and the story continues on the next album, Into the Unknown, with "Kutulu (The Mad Arab, Part Two)". Hearing the two albums together gives you the whole tale, which suits a band so fond of dark storytelling.
