Robert Johnson’s Tombstone
Robert Johnson's Tombstone is Thunder's eighth studio album, released in October 2006 through STC Recordings. It follows The Magnificent Seventh! and sits in the stretch before the band's next record, Bang!, in 2008. Luke Morley produced it, and work began in November 2005 while the band were still touring its predecessor.
The recording was spread across several places, including Chapel Studios in South Thoresby, studios in London and a rented villa in Mijas, Spain, where the band used a portable Pro Tools setup. Ben Matthews engineered and mixed the whole thing. It reached number 56 on the UK Albums Chart and number 6 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. Its one single, "The Devil Made Me Do It", got to number 40 on the UK singles chart, and a tour through the UK, Europe and Japan followed.
