Landmines & Pantomimes

Popularity8.9

Landmines & Pantomimes is a compilation from The Wildhearts, released on 28 September 1998 by Kuro Neko Records. It gathers unreleased demo tracks alongside the B-sides intended for the cancelled "In Lilly's Garden" single. The record company put it together and issued it without the band's authorisation, so it sits apart from the group's official run of studio albums.

For fans, the interest lies in the odds and ends. "Weekend '96" and "Beautiful Me, Beautiful You" first appeared on the vinyl edition of the 1996 version of Fishing for Luckies, while "Got It on Tuesday", "Do Anything" and "All-American Homeboy Crowd" later turned up officially as bonus tracks on the Red Light – Green Light EP. Ginger has also played "Tom Take the Money" live on solo tours. The cover reuses elements from the artwork for P.H.U.Q., created by band friend Danny Deen.
