Live From Dakota
Live From Dakota is Stereophonics' first live album, released on 3 April 2006 through V2 in the UK. Across two discs and 20 tracks, it draws on the Welsh band's first five studio albums, from Word Gets Around through to Language. Sex. Violence. Other?
It isn't a record of a single night. The band recorded every show on their 2005 world tour and then picked the strongest take of each song, so the set is a composite of the best moments from the road. That also explains the title, which nods to "Dakota", their first UK number one, rather than to a place. In the US it came out on their own label, Vox Populi Records. It's a handy way to hear how the songs hold up on stage, and it was reissued for Record Store Day on 13 April 2019.
