Live at the Palace
Live at the Palace captures Blind Melon on stage at The Palace in Hollywood on 11 October 1995. It came out in 2006 on Capitol Records, and it is the fourth album to feature Shannon Hoon on vocals. The recording was made just ten days before his death, which gives it a weight that few live records carry.
The band's studio story at that point ran across two albums, Blind Melon in 1992 and Soup in 1995, with For My Friends arriving later in 2008. This release sits between those chapters as a document of the group in their final stretch with Hoon. It is rock with an alternative edge, and it will appeal to anyone who wants to hear how the singer and the band sounded together in front of a crowd so near the end.
