Album
For My Friends
For My Friends is the third studio album by the American alternative rock band Blind Melon, released on 22 April 2008 on Rocket Science Ventures. It followed their self-titled debut from 1992 and Soup from 1995, so it arrived after a gap of twelve years.
What sets it apart is the voice at the front. Travis Warren sings lead here, having been recruited after the death of Shannon Hoon, the singer on the band's earlier records. For anyone who followed Blind Melon through the 1990s, it is the record that shows how the band carried on, and it's worth hearing as the start of that second chapter.
