Album
Back From the Dead
Back From the Dead is the fifth album by the American death metal band Obituary, released in April 1997 on Roadrunner Records. It followed World Demise from 1994 and arrived after a run of records that had made the band one of the genre's most recognisable names.
It also marks the end of a chapter. This was the last Obituary album before the band split in 1998, and they stayed away for five years until 2003. Their next studio record, Frozen in Time, did not appear until 2005. For anyone tracing the band's story, this is the closing statement of their first era, and a useful place to hear where they stood before the long pause.
