Give Way
Give Way is a live Pearl Jam album, recorded on 5 March 1998 at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, during the Yield Tour. It was meant to go out in 1998 as a free extra with purchases of the Single Video Theory documentary, but the band and label never cleared the promotion, and Epic destroyed 50,000 copies the day before release. The recording is an edited version of a 25-song concert that Australian radio station Triple J had broadcast on radio and online.
It finally appeared in April 2023 through Legacy Recordings, part of Epic, as a Record Store Day release. Its main appeal for fans is the drumming of Jack Irons, who played with the band in this period; this is the only official Pearl Jam live album to feature him. It captures the group in the Yield era, between Vitalogy and No Code and the records that followed.
