MTV Unplugged
Pearl Jam's MTV Unplugged captures the band's acoustic set for the MTV series, recorded on 16 March 1992, not long after the arrival of their debut album, Ten. It sits early in the group's story, long before Gigaton and Dark Matter, and shows a young Seattle band stripping its sound back for a television audience.
The recording stayed off record shelves for years. A limited vinyl pressing appeared for Record Store Day in November 2019, and the wider release followed on 23 October 2020, bringing the performance to vinyl and CD together for the first time. The full concert ran to about 50 minutes, and the release closes with "Even Flow" and "Porch", though they were played in the opposite order on the night. Worth hearing for the early songs in a bare setting.
