Into the Pandemonium
Into the Pandemonium is the third studio album by the Swiss extreme metal band Celtic Frost, released on 2 November 1987. It brought back bassist and backing vocalist Martin Eric Ain, who had played on Morbid Tales in 1984 but missed the follow-up. Combat handled the US release, while Noise Records issued it in Europe, and it closed the band's time with Noise.
The record pushes the band's experimental streak further. It takes in gothic rock leanings, industrial-tinged material such as "One in Their Pride", and an unexpected cover of Wall of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio". The band's familiar orchestral touches with female vocals are still here too. Reviews were mixed at first, but opinion warmed quickly, and it went on to become Celtic Frost's most successful record. A costly legal fight with Noise followed, as the band accused the label of sabotaging its promotion.
