Last Night on Earth: Live in Tokyo
Last Night on Earth: Live in Tokyo is a live EP by Green Day, recorded at the Akasaka BLITZ in Tokyo on 28 May 2009. It came out on 11 November 2009 on Reprise Records, first in Japan and on iTunes, with an import release in other countries following on 1 December.
It arrived in the wake of 21st Century Breakdown, and most of the songs are taken from that album. Only "Basket Case" and "Geek Stink Breath" come from elsewhere, so it works as a snapshot of the band playing their newest material in front of a Tokyo crowd. The title nods to a song from the album, though that track isn't on the EP. It reached No. 31 on Japan's Oricon Weekly Charts and No. 197 on the Billboard 200.
