BBC Sessions
BBC Sessions gathers Green Day's live recordings for the BBC, made between 1994 and 2001 at Maida Vale Studios in London. It is the band's fourth live album, released on 10 December 2021 by Reprise Records. Only "One of My Lies" and "Scattered" from the 1998 session were left off, so the set covers almost everything they played for the broadcaster.
For years many of these performances circulated as bootlegs, so an official release is welcome. The span of the sessions takes in the period from Dookie through to the turn of the millennium, with the band playing their pop punk in a studio rather than on a festival stage. If you know the albums of those years, this is a chance to hear the songs in a different setting.
