Cenotaph
Cenotaph is a four-track EP from the British death metal band Bolt Thrower, released on Earache Records on 14 January 1991. It arrived between Realm of Chaos and the album War Master, and it gathers material from different points in the band's early years rather than a single session.
The first two tracks were recorded at Slaughterhouse studios in September 1990, while the third dates from July 1989 at the same studio. Colin Richardson and the band produced all three. The closing track is a live recording made at Kilburn National on 16 November 1989, taken from an audience tape. It is rough, but the band felt it caught the atmosphere of the Grindcrusher Tour, which makes it a useful snapshot for anyone curious about them on the road.
