The New Order
The New Order is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Testament, released on 10 May 1988 through Megaforce Records. It followed their debut, The Legacy, from 1987, and came before Practice What You Preach in 1989, so it sits right at the start of the band's run through the late-eighties thrash years.
It was the first Testament record to reach the Billboard 200, where it peaked at number 136. It is also widely regarded as one of the essential thrash releases of its decade, which makes it a natural place to start if you want to hear how the band's sound took shape. If you like your thrash from the late 1980s, this one belongs on the shelf.
