Practice What You Preach is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Testament, released in August 1989 on Atlantic/Megaforce. It follows The Legacy and The New Order, and it proved to be the record that took the band to a wider audience. Three singles were drawn from it: "Greenhouse Effect", "The Ballad" and the title track.

The results were the best the group had seen to that point. The album came close to gold status and became their first to enter the Top 100 on the Billboard 200. It also sits just before Souls of Black in their run of records, so it marks the end of a strong opening trio. For anyone tracing how Testament moved from Bay Area thrash contenders to a name known well beyond the scene, this is the place to stop and listen closely.
