Greatest Hits
Greatest Hits is The Offspring's 2005 compilation, released on 20 June 2005 through Columbia. It gathers singles from five of the band's first seven studio albums, and adds two new tracks: "Can't Repeat" and a cover of the Police's "Next to You", which sits as a hidden track at the end. Both were sent out as singles, with "Can't Repeat" reaching no. 9 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and no. 10 on Mainstream Rock Tracks.
For anyone coming to the California punk-rock band's catalogue for the first time, it's a handy way in, and long-time fans get two fresh songs for their trouble. The album reached no. 8 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified Platinum in the US. A companion DVD/UMD, Complete Music Video Collection, followed a month later, collecting the videos for the fourteen main tracks plus three further singles that hadn't charted as strongly.
