Start a War is the fourth studio album by American industrial metal band Static-X, released on 14 June 2005 through Warner Bros. Records. It followed Shadow Zone from 2003 and came before Cannibal in 2007, so it sits right in the middle of the band's run of records in the 2000s. A special edition shipped with an extra DVD called X-Rated.

The album is also a landmark in the band's working relationships. Ulrich Wild produced and/or mixed it, and it was the last record he worked on with them for fifteen years, until he returned for Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 in 2020. For anyone following the band's story, it's a useful snapshot of their alternative and industrial metal sound at that point, just before the next chapter began.
