Project: Regeneration Vol. 1
Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 is the seventh studio album by American industrial metal band Static-X, released on 10 July 2020 through Otsego Entertainment Group. It arrived eleven years after Cult of Static (2009), the longest gap between studio albums in the band's career, and it was their first record not issued by Warner Bros. or Reprise.
The story behind it matters. The album draws on some of the last recordings made by frontman Wayne Static, who died in 2014, with a new vocalist credited as Xer0 filling his role. It also brings back the original line-up of bassist Tony Campos, guitarist and keyboardist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay. Ulrich Wild, who has produced or mixed most of the band's albums, produced it, so the sound stays close to home for anyone who followed them from the start.
